  • World Aids Day
    The day was celebrated with an awareness rally to spread awareness in association with the CASTALIA Educational Charitable Trust, Trivandrum. The students of the department took active participation and the rally that began within the college grounds continued all the way to the railway station. Awareness on AIDS, the necessary protective measures to be adopted, health living, and other prominent areas of awareness were put up on pluck cards and held by the participants. Commuters were given the opportunity to read through the placards and other awareness material.

  • Manomukulam – Green Initiative
    As part of the Green Initiative of the department, a program that included the faculty and the students of the Department was launched, and it was named “Manomukulam”. The expectation was to promote ways of healthier living, cultivation and having fresh eatables that are locally grown, devoid of pesticides and other chemical agents.

    A program named KARUTHAL, meaning care or concern was launched to support those students who need financial aid, but somehow does not come under the overheads providing assistance, or to supplement those who are already receiving assistance that is not adequate to meet their daily requirements.

    International yoga day was observed by the Department with the aim of inculcating the practice into the lives of the students. To realize this goal, an awareness program that explained in detail, the possible physical and psychological benefits, was organized in association with the experts from ‘SWASTI’ A centre for Yoga and healing.

  • SUKRITHI
    Read a book challenge was an initiative that the department took to rekindle the spirit of reading in the modern-day man. This program spanning over a time frame of one month, was launched when a massive shift to audio-video formats of entertainment rather than reading books was observed amongst the masses. this alarming fact, wherein people are letting their imagination powers run dry, and going behind readymade material steered the department to action and initiated this program, integrating the wider coverage of the new technology, but at the same time prompting its users to read an actual book and share their feelings about the experience, the book and so on, on the page created for the same.
